Global Teak is fast becoming the prefered supplier of super yacht teak decking and rails for two reasons. Length and quality. Our timber is longer and straighter than most shipwrights have seen in years. Everyone who has seen our timber firsthand has been pleased or even amazed by the lengths and quality.
We ensure the Burmese Teak we supply is of the highest quality (FEQ) through selecting our own logs in Myanmar from sawing grade 1, then processing them through every stage through to finished decking ourselves.
Our teak boards are air dried over several months to allow the moisture content of the timber to reduce at a natural pace. This avoids case hardening which occurs when green teak is kiln dried. Case hardened teak is damaged by the internal expansion caused by the moisture being baked out in a kiln.
Our long lengths (6m+) enable timber yachts, cruisers and dinghys to have decks with no butts, which are some of the most common failure points. We can also cut teak to match with existing parts for timber boat restorations and supply teak plugs in a wide range of sizes.
